We are currently living in rented accommodation in Gloucester, however our dream is to live on the water. We are looking for a liveaboard narrow boat on a rent to buy basis, however, we have two children so ideally this would be at least 45ft. A project/run down boat is not a problem, however it must have a running engine and a sound hull. We currently have a 20ft Hurley sailing yacht which is used for weekends which could possibly be used as a down payment. There is a fixed double bed at the stern and open plan cabin at the front, the galley is in the middle. It has a 1.5 BMC diesel engine which has just been rebuilt. It has good headroom and is more spacious than most narrowboats because of its narrow side decks. It has a fridge and a freezer. It has a large hot water storage tank, shower and macerator toilet (all untested as yet). For the past 15 years she has been used as a static houseboat on the Thames and is wired for mains 240v only at the moment.
