Antique Mahogany Cased Arch Topped Bracket Clock, Circa

Antique Mahogany cased arch topped bracket clock, with some lovely inlaid detailing, circa ’s. This clock is marked Made in England, but has a look of the German manufacturer Gustav Becker about it. The front has thick bevelled glass which opens to winding holes on the easy to see white dial. Below the dial is a lovely detailed inlay of a rough diamond shape with what looks like a crest of some sort. The clock is raised on brass bun feet. This used to belong to my grandparents. It has a nice sounding gong from what I remember though I haven’t tested it. I believe it still works, but it might need a little TLC to get it back into good working order. Certainly all the bits are there! The case in in very good solid condition. It comes with a winding key and pendulum. Approx. dimensions – Width at bottom 9” Height 12 ½” Depth from bottom 5” These are all approximate sizes. There is a slight etching on the back of the inside cover which from what I can make out says A M. A beautiful clock for someone to own.

General: Gents pocket watch complete with case / display stand. This watch was made by Jr & William Laing of Glasgow who went on to found the famous Laing's Jewellers in Edinburgh. Weight of watch = 130 grams - Watch stand = 90 grams.Stand: Not original to the watch. Silver Hallmarked to cm x x8.75cm x 2.5cm.Rear = bonded leather. Some cosmetic issues as pictured but support is still intact.Watch case: Silver. Hallmarked to . Diameter = 50mm excluding bow / crown. Closures working as they should. The watch bears the normal signs of use in keeping with it's age.Dial / Hands: White dial supporting makers mark and reference number. Hours marked in black Roman numerals.. The hour / minute hands appear to be rolled gold and colour match each other - therefore likely to be original. Seconds hand @ 6h is blued steel and shows signs of oxidation.
