Details about   Vintage Monkey Pod Turtle Box Bowl -

This unique and wonderful Monkey Pod Turtle Box came from the Phillipines in the ’s.  It has a rich, glowing finish…. and a marvelous, carved shell that easily lifts off to reveal a secret, scooped-out storage area for trinkets, jewelry…..or it could even be used as a candy bowl.  The turtle measures about 15” in total length, from the tip of it’s nose to the tip of it’s tail.  The shell lid is about ” long  x  5.75” wide.  There is a marvelous oval design carved all over the shell’s top.  The turtle stands on short, stubby legs that are about 1”-1.5” tall.   This terrific turtle is in excellent condition, showing minor light wear.   SAVE THE TURTLES!!   Please contact me with any questions.  Thanks so much for looking!!
