He needs better than me
This is Paws. He's my beautiful, loving, energetic, patterdale terrier. He's not a young boy anymore, but he's a great dog. He loves long walks, and will run and play and make you laugh, then curl up on the sofa and snuggle up to you like a teddy bear. He has mild epilepsy. Occasional seizures, but not frequent or regular enough to warrant medication, it does mean that he's a little temperamental around other animals and scared of the wierdest things. Small children and flies are his biggest fears after fireworks. Unfortunately three years ago we moved house. Fireworks go off all year round, I ended up on crutches and unable to give him the exercise he needs for a year and we now have a toddler who adores him and he loves her on his own terms too. Unfortunately that year on crutches did him no favours and he now gets so excited when I even so much as look at his lead that I can't actually get it on him! I wish I was the right person for him, that we were the right family, but we're not.?? That's a really hard thing for me to say. We're failing him. He needs a better person than any of us. He needs someone who's actually had dogs before and understands them and is capable of actually getting the lead on him. He needs more than we can offer him. So we're finally asking...is anyone looking for a beautiful dog? He's healthy, fully vaccinated, neutered and wonderful! You can have his lead, his collar, his coat, his blanket, his toys....just please give him the life he deserves? Read More
