If you have ever considered taking up metal detecting as an alternative hobby then this is the package for you. Due to health reasons and a general lack of time I have decided to sell my Metal Detector and associated accessories as a job lot. This would be ideal if you are taking up the hobby or just moving up from say a basic machine for one with all the bells and whistles. I am therefore selling the following. The explanations are detailed in case you are new to the hobby. 1 x Minelab Explorer 2 metal detector. This was (and still is by some) considered to be one of the best that you can get (but I realise that a few will people will not agree) and has only been superseded by ones with most of the features that the explorer has, but with a few fine tunings and extra gizmos. The Explorer uses 26 different frequencies to send the signal into the ground to find the object. Most other detectors only use one or 2 frequencies and a very few more than 2. This allows objects at varying depths to be detected. It has an LCD screen which shows information of the settings that you can set into the machine and also the information of the object that has been detected such as its iron content, size and depth. The Explorer can be used in basic mode until you get used to it and then changed to Advanced mode where the fine settings of the machine can be changed by the user to suit the environment that is being detected on. You can fine tune the settings very carefully to get the settings you want and then save these for recalling later on. You can even set two different people up on the same machine if two people are using it or you could use one setting for Beaches and the other for pasture. It comes with a 10in search coil and a protective cover for the coil. The detector comes with a NiMH rechargeable battery and Manual In addition I am also including in this sale the following accessories 1 x Pair Koss Professional headphones 1 x 14in deep Search coil. This fits in place of the std coil value £ x 5in mini coil – ideal for searching trashy sites or working in between vegetation or obstacles value £60+ 1 x Cover for detector control Panel 1 x Battery Charger 1 x Full length carry case (holdall) for detector Spare alkaline cell for 8 x AA batteries 9 good for running detector of std AA batteries if you are on long sessions and run out of battery. I have often put some pound land batteries in this and lasted another 8 hrs. Spare Coil shaft Harness – worn to take the weight of the detector on long sessions I x book “understanding the Minelab explorer with tips tricks and settings for various types of land 2 x video’s “Minelab Explorer” and “Advanced” explaining in detail how to set up the machine, uses and ways to use the settings to best advantage. Black Ada digging tool hardly used solid stainless steel very strong The only thing I have not included is a spade or shovel. This is due to the size and weight but also it’s a personal thing. Some like a big full side spade others like a smaller spade so this will have to be purchased yourself or you have probally already got one anyway I have also included a finds pouch and finds storage tubs etc. which is worn round the waist and used to hold finds in till you get back home. The accessories come in their own carry bag Also included are a selection of books, and an archaeology research CD so this is truly all you will need to get started in the hobby with a decent machine.
