MESA BOOGIE STUDIO 22+ COMBO with EQ and BLACK SHADOW 90W DR

Bought this new in and used until in a 60s/70`s club band where the amp was di`ed so wasn`t thrashed or overworked during that time. Since was used as a back up amp and then as other amps came along was more or less stored unless used in occasional practices. Have resisted moving it on as it is a very versatile amp (from succulent clean to gritty metal sounds) Not really used the latter sounds as it never fitted into Jim Reeves` `Sweet Lips` and similar. It is also very transportable and compact so has never taken up much room. Have never had any trouble with it. Can`t hold on to it forever so time now to move it on. For specs and details of the combo either look on You Tube or put MB into the search and you can download the manual and look at reviews etc.

This is an extremely rare Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp with IIC++ Mod. Mesa don't do these mods anymore, and this is only one of THREE Studio Pre's with this mod in existence! Although used infrequently this is a fantastic pre-amplifier to drive any amp into Mesa tone. Mesa MK4b Combo up for sale is my Mesa mk4 combo b variant these are very collectible and one of the best amps ever made in my opinion. This amp is in gigged condition, front and sides are fine, the back has some tears in the tolex and the little metal clips that hold the foot switch to the back of the amp for transport are beat. None of this has any impact on stability, tone or playability of this amp. The foot switch is scratched but functions perfect. The amp has recently being service by the store it was purchased from. I have also recently swapped out all the valves including power amp valves which are computer matched for reliability. these amps do not need to be biased and as long as you replace the power valves with equivalents matched in similar plate voltage you are fine. i still have the old valves if you want them as they probably have some life left in them. This amp is a monster but if I am honest i just do not use it and i am more of a set and forget guy Trade wise would only consider something really special, high end guitars and amps Although cash is king. This is an 80s Mesa Boogie Mk III Simulclass 1 x 12 combo.Rated at 100 in simulclass or 60w by switching to class A. This amp is iconic and has so many features that it is much sought after. The amp is over 30 years old and though showing some signs of wear it is in great condition for its age. Its effectively a 3 channel amp via the pull dials on the front or by the foot switches supplied. It also has a 5 band EQ which can be set on/off or auto. Around the back it has a direct output socket with its own volume, a send and return circuit, presence, reverb and extension speaker output sockets. And as mentioned, the simulclass/Class A switch. The speaker is an Electrovoice and has an awesome sound. The transformer is heavy duty and contributes to the massive sound too. The whole amp is wonderfully huge sounding yet can be tamed via the master and lead master dials on the front. The clean tone is fabulous and the overdrive channels are singing, give a truly versatile amp. It had an overhaul about a year ago and new preamp and power valves have been fitted. The amp has never been gigged or played out and only used at home. Highly versatile amp with Tube driven reverb, 2 channels (foot-switchable), 4 modes. The 5W power setting is extremely useful for home practice. Separate Reverb and Contour controls on each channel and both are footswitchable.
