Very rare Mathieu Matégot "Java" table lamp in original condition.Metal structure with folded metal sheet, lacquered yellow.The round reflector can be opened and closed.The lamp rests on three brass feet.Original brass bayonet socket (On request the lamp can be fitted with new wiring and socket).This lamp is left in his original condition.A precursor of contemporary design, Mathieu Matégot imagined innovative household objects and furniture that adapted them to the s new aesthetics and interiors. In the late s, he was the first to use perforated steel that he lacquered in black and poetically named “Rigitulle”. An interesting industrial style drinks or tv trolley (for small TV only), very similar in design to Mategot or Pilastro designs. I believe it is European, possibly Dutch or French. The trolley is in good vintage condition with some moderate wear as to be expected. The overall length (including the frame) is about 62cm, the width is about 35cm, and the height is 58cm to the top shelf and about 70.5cm to the top of the frame at the ends. Each shelf is about 60cm in length and 35cm in width. Collection is preferred from Angmering, West Sussex near Worthing. However, I may be able to deliver it for fuel cost within a reasonable travelling distance of my home, please ask.
