Marshall MBB series w Combo Amp With Foot Switch

The MB x 10” combo developed 450 Watts (at 2 Ohm). With two channels, Modern and Classic, and a three band passive EQ network featuring a parametric Mid and a switchable Compressor with variable Level control, the MB had a single ECC83 preamp and Master Volume for real valve warmth. With a solid state power stage this hybrid combo had a three mode Voice control, along with a Boost switch, and channel Blend feature, which allowed real control over the shape your sound. The MB also featured an emulated XLR DI out (pre & post) which made it great for going straight into a front of house mixer, and recording.

Marshall JMP 50 Plexi vintage valve amp head, dated by Marshall to or early RECENTLY SERVICED and in full working order. I have owned and used this amp for almost 40 years and I am selling reluctantly now only because I have retired from gigging. The amp has been regularly serviced during a long and active working life. It has therefore undergone some parts replacements, but it retains many original components. I’ve included photos showing the internal electrics and the exterior condition of the case. More pix can be emailed on request. Before offering the amp for sale I’ve had it fully serviced, tested and upgraded to meet modern electrical safety standards. The work was carried out by Chris Taylor at Vintage Amp Services and included a complete re-valve with new Tube Amp Doctor valves, new fuse holders, new safety-compliant standby and on/off switches and a modern I.E.C. mains socket fitted. The mains voltage is hardwired to 240V and the speaker impedance selector to 8ohms. This was for my convenience when the original movable selector inserts were lost. A current equivalent Marshall reissue X head would cost you around £ new. This amp is not a mass-produced reissue, it’s a piece of hand-wired rock ’n roll history from the ’s. Footswitch controls channel selection between classic gain and ultra gain, or reverb on/off. Has an effects loop round the back. "Countless hours of R&D and of course listening, went into the creation of the 100 Watt DSL100. DSL is an acronym for ‘Dual Super Lead’, so it should come as no surprise that this amp has two footswitchable channels – Classic and Ultra. Furthermore, each of these channels boasts two modes: the Classic channel offers a Clean / Crunch option while the Ultra offers Lead 1 or Lead 2. Instead of merely offering a variation in gain level to the two channels, each one of these four modes has been individually voiced as an amp in its own right.
