The Marshall AS50R Acoustic Amp is a 50W dedicated acoustic combo featuring 2 channels, each with its own volume and tone controls. A variety of inputs gives it the flexibility to accommodate any acoustic instrument and a microphone. A pair of phono inputs on channel 2 allows the use of backing tracks. It features built-in chorus assignable to either or both channels, plus reverb and an effects loop that can be balanced between the 2 channels. Anti-feedback controls include a phase switch and notch filter selectable by rotary control. Includes 2 - 8" speakers and a piezo tweeter for clear and detailed reproduction. An internal limiter lets you drive the power stage hard without distortion. I purchased this amplifier several years ago when I used to play guitar in a church band. I used the amp less than 20 times in total and only once in a performance setting. I did not even work out how to use all the controls! It has therefore spent the vast majority of its life collecting dust in an under stair cupboard, up until yesterday when it saw the light of day! I PURCHASED THIS AMPLIFIER SEVERAL YEARS AGO WHEN I USE TO PLAY GUITAR IN A CHURCH BAND. I PURCHASED IT PRIMARILY AS I WANTED AN ELECTRIC ACCOUSTIC GUITAR ON WHICH I COULD PRACTICE ON AT HOME. UNFORTUNATELY THE PRACTICE SESSIONS AT CHURCH GOT TOO SERIOUS AND I LOST MY MOTIVATION TO PLAY. IN TRUTH I USED THE AMP LESS THAN 20 TIMES IN TOTAL AND ONLY ONCE IN A PERFORMANCE SETTING. I DID NOT EVEN WORK OUT HOW TO USE ALL THE CONTROLS! IT HAS THEREFORE SPENT THE VAST MAJORITY OF ITS LIFE COLLECTING DUST IN AN UNDER STAIR CUPBOARD, UP UNTIL YESTERDAY WHEN IT SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY! Marshall AS50R + Cover + Stand The Marshall AS50R is an acoustic guitar amplifier - channel one is setup to match the electronics of an acoustic guitar pickup, and channel two can be used for a dynamic microphone/another instrument/or from an MP3 player... The amp has an effects loop, and an XLR out. The AS50R uses analogue effects (reverb/chorus) unlike it's successor the AS50D... why is that important... the warmth and subtlety of the analogue effects are regarded by many as superior to the later effects... The amp also benefits from an anti feedback system, with a notch filter that can dial out a feedback frequency.
