Vico Magistretti for Artemide – Eclisse table lamp
The Eclisse table lamp was designed for Artemide by Vico Magistretti, won the Compasso d'Oro in and is a Italian design classic.The lamp consists of simple shapes and was, as stressed by Magistretti himself, inspired by the lanterns of miners and thieves. In , when travelling in the Milan Metro, he got the idea for this lamp while thinking about the lantern of Jean Aljean, the main character in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables.The lamp consists of three semi-globes.
