Published in by the ‘Afdeling Bijzondere Collecties’ of the ‘Universiteit van Amsterdam’, together with Asia Maior/Atlas Maior for the occasion of the 200 year Kingdom of The Netherlands. The first copy was offered to King William Alexander. It is a facsimile edition of one of the top pieces from the collection of the ‘Universiteit van Amsterdam’ (university of Amsterdam).Only 125 numbered copies have been published. It is beautifully bound in half leather, has a large folio format and contains no less than 617, mostly hand coloured topographical maps, that together give an as good as possible complete picture of the Dutch landscape between and .The atlas contains (fold-out) maps from renowned cartographers as Frederik de Wit and Cornelis Danckaerts. This beautiful, formidable atlas cost about € at subscription in . The atlases are in absolute new condition and are packaged in the accompanying boxes.For cartography enthusiasts these atlases probably represent the apex.Added to the nine original volumes is a modern, tenth volume in which Drs. Jan W.H.
