If you are in the market for a sailing yacht but only have access to a shallow mooring then this may be a solution. Prelude 19 swinging keel yacht in GRP with original gelcoat on the hull, deck and coach roof. Manufactured by Rydgeway Marine circa , the same builders of the Pandora yacht range with many of its attributes. Berths for four in an open plan accommodation and a generous sized cockpit that seats four adults with locker space under the seats. All areas of the deck have non-slip mouldings in the gelcoat for grip in the wet. Swinging pendulum keel that draws 1.5ft when wound up and 4.5ft when lowered putting the ballast far into the water where you need it to provide stability. It is controlled from the helm position.The keel is an improvement on the mk1 version which moved up/down from a keel box. With the mk2 version keel, if an underwater obstruction is hit or you round aground, the keel raises up over it and drops down again instead of possibly becoming dislodged. It also removes the need for an obtrusive keelbox in the cabin. Sails consist of a main and jibsail. Powered by a Seagull outboard engine. Sits on a single axle launching trailer. Hull clinker planked in wych elm with oak ribs, oak keel, deadwood and stem apron. Thought to have been built by Suttons in Great Wakering in . Cast iron external keel likely to weigh 6-8 hundredweight (kg). Mahogany wheelhouse with marine windscreen wipers, glazed with toughened glass, mahogany topsides with six opening portholes. Wheelhouse stored off boat. Top deck recanvased and new Douglas fir handrails fitted. New doors to main cabin. Tempest Captain Engine 1.5 BMC diesel with PRM reduction gearbox and Morse controls fitted in about 400 to 500 hours running (engine out of boat). Various engine spares including filters, gaskets, injector pipes and drive belts. Marine alternator with split charging to two batteries (no batteries). Marine grade stainless steel propeller shaft with water-lubricated cutlass bearing, Norris Industries bronze 3 blade propeller, bronze stern tube and bronze internal rigid stuffing box. Engine instrumentation and log. Galley with stainless steel sink. Demountable dining/chart table, converts to double berth full cabin lighting. Potable water: 10 gallon plastic tank interlinked to a purpose made and hull shaped fibre glass tank (gel coat on the inside) with inspection cover approx. capacity 25 gallons. Radar reflector, new mahogany mast tabernacle base. Traditional mahogany and brass ships wheel and Bowden cable steerage, manual steering tiller, helmsman’s seat. This boat has been laid up since , initially in a wet berth in Essex saltings and from ashore in Epping. Reason a house build that took too long and now age has overtaken going boating again. She was built in by Westerly Yachts and has had many improvements and updates in equipment since then.   Designed by Laurent Giles, the Konsort's interior is the pinnacle of the development of what is called the "Standard Layout", with its forecabin/heads/ saloon/galley and chart-table arrangement that is so well suited to our northern way of sailing.  There is plenty of locker-age and the berths are good and wide. The galley and navigational area are conventional and functional giving a good overall impression of spaciousness.  Six people (one double + 4 individual berths) can be accommodated in comfort.  There is and electric toilet and wash hand basin with presurised hot and cold water. This vessel is fully equiped with every type of navigational extra, a dinghy and outboard even an EPIRB emergency beacon as well as the Two VHF radios. She is a stiff boat, and given a decent wind can see off a good few cruiser/racers as she has proved on many occasions. Most cruising yachtsmen profess to ignore boatspeed, but remember that an extra half a knot gets you to your destination a few hours earlier!   Handling under power is as good as all the modern yachts with their big spade rudders and powerful engines. She is almost as easy to handle backwards as forwards, which makes her a delight in crowded Summer anchorages and marinas.
