MALE BARN OWL DNA'd, CLOSE RINGED AND A10 PAPERS
MALE BARN OWL DNA'd, CLOSE RINGED AND A10 PAPERS INCLUDED. FED ON A TOP QUALITY DIET BRED BY A 'REPUTABLE' BREEDER & PURCHASED BY ME EARLIER THIS YEAR. HE WAS ONE HALF OF A 'PAIR' OR 'POSSIBLY' ONE OF 2 FEMALES. AS I HAVE A MALE EITHER WAY I SHOULD HAVE A BREEDING PAIR EXCEPT THAT WHEN I HAD THEM DNA TESTED THEY ARE BOTH MALE. I HAVE LITTLE USE FOR 3 MALES AS I WANT TO BREED THEM SO 2 HAVE TO GO. HE'S A NICE BIRD, WAS HAND TAMED BUT BY BEING FREE LOFTED HE IS NOW QUITE SKITTISH THOUGH HE SHOULD BE TAMABLE AGAIN. WHY AM I ASKING £140 WHEN OTHERS ARE FOR SALE AT LESS? THEY ARE FED ON A QUALITY MIXED DIET AND NOT SOLELY DAY OLD CHICKS LIKE A GOOD MANY DO. IF YOU CHOOSE TO BUY FROM ELSE WHERE ADVERTISING 'EXCELLENT QUALITY MIXED DIET' ASK TO SEE THE FOOD THEY HAVE BEEN EATING. ANYONE WITH THE WELFARE OF THE BIRD WILL NOT MIND. WE WOULDN'T BE HEALTHY IF WE ONLY ATE ONE FOOD, WE MIGHT SURVIVE BUT WOULDN'T BE HEALTHY. MINE DO GET LOTS OF DAY OLD CHICKS BUT THEY ALSO HAVE QUAIL, CHICKEN, PHEASANT, MOUSE, RAT, MULTIMAMMATE (A SOFT FURRED RAT), HAMSTER (THE CLOSEST THING GENERALLY AVAILABLE TO VOLES WHICH THEY HUNT IN THE WILD) & RABBIT. THIS COSTS CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN JUST D.O.C. BUT THE HEALTH BENEFITS ARE OBVIOUS. I WOULD PREFER AN EXPERIENCED PERSON TO TAKE HIM ON BUT A NOVICE WITH A SUITABLE MENTOR MIGHT BE ACCEPTABLE SUBJECT TO SATISFACTORILY ANSWERING MY QUERIES AND PROVING SUITABLE HOUSING. COLLECTION FROM STOURBRIDGE, WEST MIDLANDS. DY9
