Alaskan shepherd (male)

Male Alaskan shepherd approx 4 years old. Fantastic in the house, good with children, bought as company for German shepherd when was up for rehoming. We have had this dog a couple of months now and unfortunately it's not working out. As stated he is great in the house, fine with our dog and cats who stand underneath him. However he is aggressive towards other dogs when out and due to his size and strength we find it impossible to walk both of them together as we need to. As a result we have only been able to let him off the lead when there is literally no one else around, which isn't ideal. This is a reluctant sale as he just isnt what we were told in regards to walking and dogs and sadly we cannot commit the time required to fix this. As stated he is lovely around the house and would probably benefit from being the only dog, only because it would be easier to handle him, also our young German shepherd has started to copy his behaviour when out, which we can't have as our teenagers walk her without problems at the min. PLEASE READ FULL AD BEFORE CONTACTING US: Thorn has been on here before, however we have either not had the right people come forward. We feel that we have tried all options ourselves and really do need to find him a new home. This is our 2 year old male Alaskan Malamute. We are extremely sad to be looking to rehome him as we love him very much but we hope that with the right owner he will be a great forever friend. Thorn is a very challenging dog and must go to an experienced dog owner(s) with no small children or small animals as his breed tends to have a high prey drive. Over the past year Thorn has become more weary of people who his does not know and we can't work out what may have triggered this as he has always been a very friendly dog. When he meets strangers he can appear unsure and dominant. He is especially like this when strangers enter our home. Thorn is a very mouthy boy. He seems to have developed a separation anxiety which begins as soon as we put on our coats. We feel he would cope better in a bigger house and possibly a bigger garden (must be secure as he can be an escape-artist at times) If the right person comes along we would like to keep in touch to see how he progresses and grows. all we want is the best for him and we are sure that the right person is out there. Meet Brian. He is a lovely male Alaskan Malamute, he is 5 years old and absolutely loves the attention. He is a big boy so any potential buyers for him would need a big car or transport. He is on a strict diet as he was previously 19stone but has come down to 11stone in just 6 months. Also because of this he needs walking twice a day but is great both on and off the lead. Here is our beloved family pet, his name is diesel. He is 7 years old, we reluctantly need to rehome him due to work commitments, he is now not getting the excersize he requires. He has been with us from 8 weeks old. Fully trained and has been brought up around kids, from babies to older children. He has always been an inside dog. He has one blue eye and one brown eye. The cost listed is only to ensure he goes to the perfect loving home he needs! Wonderful dogs will be very sad to see them go but unfortunately due to personal circumstances they need a new forever home. Both dogs are fantastic with children but wouldn't recommend around smaller animals or other dogs. They have great temperaments and love nothing more than cuddling up with you in the evenings and falling asleep. Both dogs have been neutered/spayed and all vaccinations are upto date. They are also both microchipped. Experience with the breed or similar breeds is essential and home checks will be carried out before rehoming. It’s with a heavy heart after months of consideration I am having to look to rehome my Alaskan Malamute Hachi. I have had him since a pub but unfortunately work commitments mean he is not getting the attention and exercise he any longer needs and is unfair for him. He has been bought up around our 2 6 years olds who he adores and is great around children. He is not great with other dogs especially little ones unless he knows them, my mums and friends dogs he is fine with once introduced he plays with them fine. Cats and birds he isn’t a fan of. He loves big walks and lots of attention and needs a family that can provide him with both. He has a lovely temperament. He sings to the ice cream van and will be sure to let you know when he’s hungry! He is KC registered and I have all of his papers since birth.
