Large Edwardian Five Drawer Chest Mahogany

This is a fine piece of furniture made out of solid mahogany with a lovely patina. It features a Large bottom drawer, 2 more standard drawers with two small drawers to the top. The drawers are dovetailed at front and blind dovetailed at rear and are all varnished inside. The handles are all original and are Brass Swan Tail with fretted Rosettes. It sits on Queen Anne legs. The previous owner had a toughened glass top cut to protect this piece it has a slight lip at the rear to stop things falling down the back. Delivery Service available. It is with great reluctance that I am selling my great-grandmother's wardrobe, as I have moved to a house with fitted wardrobes. I think it dates from the early s and is a beautiful warm wood, with carved panels on either side of the mirrored door. The door closes with a brass handle and key, and the original mirror has aged which lends it a lovely character. There is a full-width drawer with brass handles. Inside, the wardrobe has a hanging rail and 4 hooks on the back. The pelmet lifts off for ease of moving. Overall dimensions: 112cm wide x 43cm deep x 190cm high.
