  Top Reff headsail furler

This furler has been used for my free-flying lightweight genoa (39 sq m), which it handles with ease. Operation is by the endless line on the foredeck and is straightforward. The crewman furls and unfurls the sail by using the endless line, rather than the cockpit hand pulling on the sheet. When unfurled, the sheet is adjusted. The equipment comprises the body of the furler with its endless line and the separate top swivel, which one attaches to the halyard and head of sail in the normal way. The tack attaches with a shackle to the top plate of the body of the furler. There is a little galvanic degeneration of part of the alloy component (clearly visible in the photos) but this does not interfere with normal working of the furler. The steel components are pristine. The photos show side, top and bottom views, with the top swivel lying alongside on the endless furling line. I am selling this because I needed to buy a top-down furler for my cruising chute, which also doubles for my lightweight genoa.

Tri-Radial cut headsail. 'White' with blue UV strip. Luff: m Padded UV Leech: Approx m -ish Foot: 6.15m A couple of past repairs plus an unrepaired tear (see photo) requiring checking / attention. Apart from the tear, in 'fair' (IE not 'Excellent' or 'Good') condition. Used by me for coastal and cross channel work until last Sept when it tore a short length along the leech before I could furl it in a squall! See photo. Now being replaced with a new sail for more serious (across Biscay) offshore work.   My sail launderers and repairers advised me last Spring, before the tear occurred, that it appeared well used but probably ok for coastal work -if furled as appropriate depending on the conditions!  Collection by purchaser from Fleet, Hampshire only -due to size / weight.

She is a 24ft sloop powered by a SUZUKI 9hp 2 stroke outboard fed by an inboard fuel tank (an upgrade to a Yamaha 8hp 4 stroke is possible for an additional cost). GPS/depth/radio/cooker/heads. After a survey the standing rigging and cooker was replaced and electrics rewired. The Survey is available (all suggested tasks were carried out). All lines feed back to cockpit which has a centre main sheet. She comes with a Seago 230 tender (oars, pump, inflatable floor, hard seat & transom), lines, fenders, cockpit cushions, etc. Good sails. Lazy jacks and flat pack sail cover for easy sailing. Furled gib. A new water system was fitted in (electric pump). She is anti-fouled and on hard at Penryn ready for inspection.
