The garden design in this book is based on André Le Nôtre (), who redesigned the gardens of Versailles, the Tuileries and Fountainebleau.The work covers garden designs including mazes, buildings, ornaments and fountains. Jean-Baptiste Le Blond, the architect and designer of the Peterhof garden, made the sketches of three quarters of the prints for this work.
