Just removed from our living room, this is a lovely cast iron fireplace complete with grate damper etc - all ready to fit. Comes with a custom built solid wood surround. Measurements of the fire are given in the third photo. The surround is approx 47" high with uprights 46.5" maximum dimension and the top is a maximum of 49.5" wide. It is very heavy but does come apart, the main front part bolts to the back and the front bars, ash cover and grate come off making it easier. Any questions? Need more information? Please ask. Reclaimed and Restored Cast Iron Arched Insert with Surround Description This cast Iron insert has been stripped back by hand and re-polished to a stunning graphite finish. Comes complete with Cast Iron Back Box so can be used with gas or solid fuel (Just needs gas fire or fire grate) or as a decorative feature in any room. The surround is a Wooden Antique Pine Colour. All our surrounds are reclaimed and as such may have some minor knocks and blemish appropriate to its age. All Surrounds are sympathetically restored and waxed prior to delivery. All surrounds can be sprayed White, Black or any available colour for an additional charge. Insert can be sold separately if surround is not required or is not to your taste. SCHOTS VICTORIAN STYLE MARBLE FIREPLACE SURROUND WITH CAST IRON FIREPLACE needs restoring

THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT I have a Schots Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. There is also a large grey slate floor flag for the fireplace to stand on. This versatile cast iron fireplace insert, in premium black, is replica of an authentic period piece and features finely detailed casting, can be used for selected gas fires or traditional wood burning. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plaint and will be as good as before. You can buy whatever products you need to restore it from Schots website. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc.
