I have checked with a plumber and it will accommodate the necessary pipe work and a hole just needs to be cut in the marble (this was my original intention, but I've gone down the boring route of a normal sink!). Originally these would have been used as small cake tins, but they are the perfect size & shape for using as small soap dishes. Would look really cute on/next to the sink holding a small soap. They are made from metal (probably tin) and do show obvious signs of age. There are small areas of surface rust and they are heavily worn (scuff marks & scratches etc)...this only adds to the vintage charm. All of the tins vary slightly in patina etc. but are identical in shape and size. Please specify if you would prefer more or less wear/rust when purchasing.
