Postcard stamped with 7½ cent preprint and additional franking 2½ guilders. Sent on October , from WELTEVREDEN and by airmail from BATAVIA to AMSTERDAM. Special stamp POST FLIGHT NED-INDIA - NETHERLANDS BATAVIA 17 OCT. 27. The so-called "Koppenvlucht" of October is considered the beginning of the commercial airline line Netherlands - Dutch Indies, vice versa. This flight was performed by Dutch Lieutenant George Alexander Koppen with a KLM Fokker F-VIIa-3M. The registration number was H-NAEA and the plane was called "Post Pigeon". Lt.
