Hi this is for my steam traction engine, it is scratch built 1 1/2" scale steam traction engine, it was made 50 years ago by my father and it used to tow me round the garden on a trailer, this is a fantastic talking point, it can even be connected to a air compressor, it has 50 years of dirt on it and have purposely not cleaned it, I didn't want to take the fun out of it for the new owner, please contact me for more info or to view

This was a gift 40 years ago. Has been kept in a display cabinet and steamed twice 30 years ago. This is the original meths burner type engine. It comes complete with everything that was supplied when purchased new. Steering rod, funnel, and original meths tin. The box has some water marks on the top but instructions etc. can all be read clearly. Not new and has some small marks on the paint--nothing major--overall good condition. Read more

Traction steam engine copper kettle, Thompson, Ritchie and Co 2.5 pint Quick-boil copper kettle designed and made by Thompson, Ritchie and Co, 34 Victoria Street, London in for Steam Traction engines, use on the engine while on the go and on the spirit burned when the Traction engine is not in use The 'quick-boil' feature is achieved by channelling heat from the flame up those tapered tubes, installed radially bottom to top. Same principle as the boiler tubes in steam locomotive boilers and just as efficient Boiling times are noticeably quicker than modern Kettles, but a real benefit too is that although the concave base offers a decent measure of windshielding, siphoning off heat up the 'boiler tubes' means there's less reflected down onto the stove top, the boiler tube principle giving more surface area for the heat with other kettles the flames spill around and up the outside of the kettle which is not as efficient as directing those flames through tubes within the kettle. The lid is has a nice porcelain knob I know these are selling in America for up to £500 each but I will only post to UK addresses.
