Originates from the mountains of China and the Himalayas. This beautiful and stunning bamboo like shrub is full hardy for the UK climate. It grows rapidly and can reach 2 to 3 metres. I prune mine every winter to the shape and size I need for my garden. The photos show the mature shrub in all it's glory and the other photos show the plants that I have for sale now which are up to about 30 cms tall at the moment. They can be planted singly for such as a corner spot interest or closer together to form a border or hedge like effect. Himalayan honeysuckle (Leycesteria formosa)

These are Himalayan honeysuckle (Leycesteria formosa) plants sometimes nicknamed the chocolate berry. They have been grown organically from seed by us last year and kept for a year to ensure good growth. The plants are now starting their new seasons growth and are around a foot tall. Despite being a honeysuckle it is not a climber but more of a deciduous shrub, it has beautiful flowers in late summer as seen in photo 1, followed by berries which smell of chocolate / caramel.
