's Les Paul DC copy - made in Japan
This is a 's Japanese copy of a Gibson Les Paul Special double cut. When I got it a few years ago, it had already lost its headstock logo, and despite making enquiries to people knowledgeable about Japanese copies of this era, I haven't been able to find a match - I don't think it's an Arbiter. But it's a great copy of a great guitar. When I got the guitar, it was in a bit of a state, so I upgraded the pickups to GFS Alnico Vintage soapbars and swapped in an adjustable wraparound bridge. The luthier also reset the fretboard, which had lifted a little. I didn't do any cosmetic work on the body, which has quite a few dings and scrapes, though the luthier sanded and finished a scrape on the back of the neck to stop it from affecting playability. As a result, the guitar plays and sounds great, but if you are looking for something pristine, this definitely isn't for you. It's a 40+ year old vintage guitar, and it had obviously taken a few knocks before I got hold of it. Sadly, it now has the opposite problem - it's just not getting played enough, so rather than have it sit there gathering dust and making me feel guilty, I've decided to sell it. Come and try it out. It's a great guitar, it can jangle, it can snarl, it can rock. Collection only (from Gospel Oak/Kentish Town) Ad ID: Delivery Service Consumer Credit
