Leitz Focomat 1c B&W enlarger for sale with Leitz eisel,Timer & Leitz Focomar f4.5 enlarger lens

For sale, a beautiful Leitz Focomat 1c darkroom enlarger with accompanying Leitz easel which slots into the baseboard to give accurate sizing and location for printing or be removed if a larger easel is required. The 1c was made between with the high precision engineering quality you would expect from a piece of equipment with the Leica name and is considered by many to be the best enlarger for 35mm monochrome darkroom printing. Negative carrier inserts are guided into a V-groove made accessible after the enlarger lamp housing is tilted backwards to a locking stop, plus, the negative strip can realigned by raising the lamp/condenser housing using a lever at the right. The head raising mechanism (for focusing) is a pinch-lever operated by forefinger and thumb of the left hand… all very simple, smooth and elegant. There is also an auto focus mechanism if you decide to change the print size and this will focus the lens for you under normal use. The light source is very even and bright coming through the condenser from a 150 watt opal bulb.(I'm including two spares here) Also included in the package is a lovely Hauck electric enlarger timer which is easy to use and very accurate. Still in perfect condition, except for the original top wire which needs rewire (I still have the original two pronged plug, but new standard UK plug can just as easily be fitted) £195 (or best offer - I'll sell enlarger without lens/ carrier etc for £50) This enlarger still has 35mm negative holder, red swivel-arm filter holder, and a spot and dust free original and much sought after Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Focotar 50mm 4.5 Lens. (Original parts for this enlarger are increasingly rare so, really, what you are paying for here is the lens, red filter's original frame and the negative carrier. The enlarger on it's own almost comes along for free!). I've used this for professional work until a few years ago when it went into storage - sadly, now it needs to go.
