Thimbletrix Sewing Sessions - Learn to sew or update your skills in a friendly supported workroom, I am very pleased to introduce, Thimbletrix Sewing Sessions, which are all about helping you to, make and fit, bespoke clothing (and some soft furnishings), in a friendly, social setting.I have a lifetime's experience of Training people in sewing skills and Training Management and through Thimbletrix, I hope to share these things with you.Whether you are a complete beginner, or you just want to improve your sewing skills and learn the tricks of the trade, I will support and coach you through your projects, in a no pressure workroom.Sewing Sessions are not workshops, where everyone makes the same individual item, like a skirt or a top. At Thimbletrix, you choose what you want to make, within your skill base and I will be there to help and coach you. The Sessions will provide you with a “no pressure environment”, where you can develop your sewing skills, whilst building creative confidence, towards achieving your personal your goals. Most workshops follow a fixed curriculum, where clients are restricted to making the same project. Not so at Thimbletrix. The freedom to choose what you want to make, is instantly motivational and more interesting, for you and the group as a whole. However, this is quite demanding from a Tutor's point of view, so to the best of my ability, I will share my time with individuals and small groups, where people have the same skill needs. You will need to bring your sewing machine with you and your sewing box of tools and materials (I will provide you with a list of essentials). Initially, before you buy a new machine, please have a chat with me? There will be a couple of machines available for members to try out, or use on a temporary basis. Just be aware that, that there is no guarantee of machine availability for whole sessions, but I want to get you up and running where I can. I will also carry out some technical demonstrations across the sessions and if you like, you can make your own portfolio of techniques whilst you have help on hand.Thimbletrix is for people who genuinely want to sew, alongside expert guidance, in a “learning by doing” environment. I believe it should be affordable, so that your sewing experience becomes all the more enjoyable. People learn at different rates, so how much you learn (or improve and consolidate your skills) depends on you and how much you practice. The Tricks of the Trade are at your fingertips. On a weekly basis, the duration of a Session is 2 to 3 hours, depending on the time of day and venue criteria. Sessions are bookable and paid in advance, for blocks of per session (Total £ per block of 6 sessions). The first Sessions begin at Lostwithiel Community Centre, on October 6th , at 9.30am for a 10am start, until pm. £9.00, Looe, .
