I have a Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. Bad news - the marble fireplace is broken in parts but can be mended. I think all the pieces are there but I keep finding new bits of it every day. Bad news - the Victorian fireplace has got some superficial rust on it so needs a good scrub and a tin of black plate and will be as good as before. The marble surround features a traditional design from the period, with attractive decorative corbels supporting a bevelled mantelpiece shelf. I have included a picture of what the mantlepiece and fireplace would have looked like originally and could look like again with a bit of tlc. THIS IS A RESTORATION PROJECT I have a Schots Victorian style marble mantlepiece with a beautiful cast iron fireplace. There is also a large grey slate floor flag for the fireplace to stand on. This versatile cast iron fireplace insert, in premium black, is replica of an authentic period piece and features finely detailed casting, can be used for selected gas fires or traditional wood burning.
