Large Vintage Ships Bell with inscription - ex - HMS Rodney

This is a heavy 7lb. ships bell with the following inscription "Metal Ex " H.M. RODNEY" dismantled. Inverkeithing . From what I know of its history it was owned by an ex- sailor of that ship for many years. It is believed to have been made in the early s by or for him. The base metal is unknown but it appears to have a brass wash applied, some of which has rubbed away. A great object which has been in the family for 30 years.
