Bidjar carpets are designed both with and without medallion, this is called a Herati pattern. No. The village of Heriz is located just west of Tabriz, in the Persian occupied part of Azerbaijan.Heriz carpets often can be distinguished by their straight-lined designs, a deviation from the traditional arabesques and rolls that are typical for Persian carpets.A large, central striped medallion with corners or a full design with highly stylised flower patterns is quite typical.Repeated patterns occur less often.The pile is thick and heavy and the colour scheme is rich and varied.Older Heriz carpets had coloured bases and medallions, usually of indigo.The finer carpets use the "double outline" technique, in which the design of the carpet is separated from the field by two lines in different colours.This type of carpet often is large and durable, which makes it suited for hallways and public areas. Large Oriental Chinese handmade carpet rug size 19ft x 10ft

This is a handmade Chinese carpet / rug woven with wool on a cotton warp and weft. I have just had the rug professionally cleaned and treated with scotchgard, but there are a couple of stains on the rug that would need additional cleaning treatment at an additional cost (in hindsight I probably should have got these removed, but this can always be done at another time). I can send you photographs of the stains under separate cover. It is very large (approximately 10 ft x 19 ft) and heavy and is excellent quality, costing around £ new. The rug is beige with a beautiful floral design to the centre and edges and in overall very good condition. We are happy for you to come and take a look at the rug before purchase.
