Large Victorian Oak free standing dinner gong in Torquay

We don't know much about this item apart from it came from my grandmothers home and had been stored under the stairs for quite a number of years. Ornately and heavily carved oak barley twist legs, We think the gong may be brass or bronze I am sure somebody out there will know. As its been stored for so many years we decided not to try and clean the metal gong because we are not sure what it is made from and did not want to ruin it. Striker included has a black felt end slightly worn, see picture. Old Fire Engine Bell Dinner Gong in Canonbie

I have for sale this Old Fire Engine Bell This item has been used as a dinner bell and comes with a striker made from wood with a soft head. The Bell has a Chrome finish and is approx 195mm in diameter at the bell mouth and approx 134mm high. The wooden frame is finished with Varnish and is approx 240mm high, 290mm wide and 260mm deep. Its a lovely piece of functional memorabilia. The surface of the bell has a number of little indentations and is rough to the touch. The striker is stored under the bell in a cradle. The soft head of the striker could do with a little TLC. Please note the bell has no Clapper Buyer can collect from Gretna Area or can arrange courier at Buyers cost

Kitchen free standing cabinet - Torquay

This much loved item is a reluctant sale. A retro shabby chic kitchen cabinet/display unit is an ideal addition for storage and displaying. The items seen are not included in the sale (don't think you'd want my opened pack of straws anyway!). The top and bottom half of the unit does separate for transportation, and the buyer will need to collect. (I have a small sports car so can't help with this). I believe that the dinner gong originates from the early part of the 20th Century. The frame is ebonised hardwood and overall in good condition for age. The frame measures 84 cm in length and height 53 cm high. The gong is 24 cm in diameter. I think the gong probably originates from the Middle East, possibly colonial.
