Marks & Spencer quality two and three seater sofa /settee / couch, High quality Marks & Spencer sofas manufactured in and still in very good condition generally - a testament to the build quality! A three seater that will actually seat four and a two seater that will easily cope with three. They are heavy, reflecting the quality and considering that they have taken 14 years of growing family use they are in remarkably good condition. Described as 'velvet' by M&S I would describe them as a finely corded soft material which is surprisingly hard-wearing as it is so soft. They are heavy, reflecting and befitting the quality, and I wouldn't be surprised if the frame is hardwood. They're certainly not lightweight in any sense at all - the seatbeds under the cushions are still very firm and there are no saggy upholstery or cushions from age, use or wear. Supremely comfortable, you can REALLY relax into them, either laid down, sat formally or slouched into the corners!; -) Some of the photos look like they're a 'plum' colour but they're red. Some also make the corded material look red and white(ish) stripes but this is just the effect of the light in the photos - they're actually a solid colour. The cushion covers are removable and machine washable (last done 6 months ago approx) and they haven't faded compared to the frame covers. Overall, they have probably faded a little from when new, but the colour is still uniform. You won't be able to pass them off as new but they're still in VGC. The left arm of the three seater has one or two minor 'pulls' in the fabric and the right arm has a cut where my son sat down on it - his jeans had a sharp rivet edge on them which have cut the material. This was in October, and it hasn't worsened since. It's at cushion level and not too obtrusive but it's certainly not hidden, unfortunately. Anyone with a little needlework skill could make it look good again I'm sure (sadly, I don't possess such skills and as I knew that I would be buying a new suite soon I didn't even attempt it - probably for the best!). All pictured in close-up for you to consider. All in all they're not perfect but they have many, many years of good service left in them. They're EXTREMELY comfortable and certainly give an air of quality - they're not going to fall apart in a few years like some of the newer lightweight offerings you can find. In five years time they'll look better than a cheap suite that you purchase new today! I can't deliver - you WILL need to collect.
