Beautiful classic bust of a young man. The sculpture is signed with the name Verrochio. Also marked with âCompagnie (Cie) des Bronzes, Bruxellesâ.In the first quarter of the 20th century, the company from Brussels made bronze decorations inspired by Italian masters and others from the 15th and 16th centuries; nearly an imitation, but with a contemporary allure. These pieces were very wanted at that time.This sculpture most likely concerns a free interpretation after the famous Italian artist Andrea del Verrocchio (Florence - Venice ). âVerrocchioâs reputation was great in the second half of the 15th century. Many famous artists were pupil in his Florentine workshop. The most important of these students were: Leonardo da Vinci and Pietro Perugino, Raphael's future teacher."
