Antique WOODEN YOKE BUCKET PAIL Fantastic rustic garden planter pot decoration

This large square sided wooden yoke bucket comes from the Shanxi province. This was, once upon a time, a yoke bucket. It would have been hanging from a yoke or beam carried by 2 oxen, with a similar bucket the opposite side. Once used to carry water. Over the years, it has been repaired as and when and, as a result, has some wonderfully vintage huge nails hammered in places to stop it leaking. I don't know if it is water-tight today. Today, it could be used as an attractive indoor or outdoor planter, or for holding dried flowers, newspapers and magazines, yarn, firewood, toilet paper rolls, or as a coal bucket…. Or whatever your mind is set on, even just as a purely decorative item. It is a very rustic and tactile and the wood has a lovely patina.
