LARGE ANTIQUE HAND BLOWN GLASS INKWELL ROMAN HEAD TO LID

This is a wonderful and unusual hand blown Glass Inkwell of a large size with a Roman Head to the lid. We believe the lid is bronze due to the characteristics and slight wear due to age but not 100% sure. There’s some very fine lines in the glass around the edge but otherwise in good condition with no chips or restoration. It’s of good weight at just over 890g. There’s a pontil mark to the base showing the scar where the pontil, punty or punt was broken from a work of blown glass. The Inkwell is approximately 8cm tall and a diameter of 16cm across the base so is a super size. 25 ANTIQUE HAND BLOWN WINE GLASSES, GREEN in Southampton

I would think these antique green glasses are probably Victorian. As they were individually hand blown, no two glasses are exactly alike with variations in the size and colour (which depends on the thickness of each glass). 12 of the glasses make a closely matched set. They are all in good, undamaged condition and very nicely tactile to handle. We bought these from antique shops in the 's, but they have had only occasional use and since we are no longer party animals, we don't use them anymore. Whilst obviously I would prefer to sell them all in one lot, I would be willing to sell a smaller quantity at £5 each if required. I have some bubble wrap and boxes to ensure safe transportation.
