Upcoming house move, hence the sale. This is a lovely bike, circa and an original vintage dutch loop bicycle. Basket is from the same era. Excellent condition, serviced 2 weeks ago - new tyres. Removable wicker basket, loud bell, rear rack, 3 speed gears and sharp brakes. Excellent working condition, with only a little rust on the handlebar. Overall a very clean and tidy bicycle for its age. I am 5ft5 and the bike handlebars and seat adjust if you are taller or shorter. Frame is 20inches/50cms. Vintage Dutch Amsterdammer ladies' omafiets bike in Hastings

I bought this beautiful 'omafiets' (grandmother's bike) in Amsterdam in November . I used her for a year on my daily commute into work in Amsterdam. Although this looks to UK eyes like a ladies' bike, in the Netherlands you'll see these ridden by both men and women. When I left Amsterdam I couldn't bear to part with her, and so when I returned to the UK year, she came with me on the ferry. Now, however, I have moved into a third floor flat and there's no room to keep her. So we must part company. Being a traditional Dutch bike, she has just the one gear, and back-pedal braking. When I bought her she had just been completely renovated - sprayed black, with new pedals, wheels, tyres, handles, front and rear lights and bell. She has a stand, and I also added the incredibly useful elastic straps to the rear luggage rack. Just before I left Amsterdam I replaced the saddle with a Selle Comfort, had the bottom bracket overhauled, put a second bell on (the first was a bit temperamental), and renewed a tyre. A Stahlex, black fabric covered, heavyweight steel chain with two keys for the lock is included. She rides beautifully, and is built to last - Dutch bikes are the last word in quality. As you can see from the photos, there are a few minor marks on the paintwork, and a few small spots of rust beginning. Overall, though, this is a splendid example of a genuine 'Amsterdammer'. I have loved owning her, but now it's time for her to move on, and find another loving owner... Please note that this bike is advertised elsewhere. Cash on collection preferred.

Beautiful, unique vintage REAL Dutch ladies bike. LARGE

Absolutely beautiful Dutch bike. Large frame, only for people over 5 7". REAL vintage Dutch bicycle, made in Holland, Eminent brand, very rare, you won't find another like this. Lovely original condition. Charming, elegant retro looks. It looks fantastic in that lovely green colour with brown bits. 3 speed Sachs Torpedo, German shifting. Front "standard" brake and rear coaster brake, as it couldn't be otherwise in a Dutch bike. Serviced for the sale with new brown Schwalbe tyres (excellent quality, puncture protected), new brake cable, new saddle, chain lubricated. REady to go, just cycle away. It is very smooth, really comfortable and sure footed. Exactly for what Dutch bikes are famous for. Full of accessories: full enclosed chainguard, mudguards, bell, side stand, rear carrier and lock for rear wheel (with original key!). Please note that it is 40 yeas old. Whilst in excellent cosmetic and mechanic condition for age, it is not perfect: some scratches, pitting in chrome, etc. If you are looking for a pristine "brand new condition" bike this is not for you.
