Loft find was covered in rust have cleaned some away just using wire wool and WD 40, but will need a bit more time to make it nice. The metal is not pitted due to hard steel used in construction so if wanted it could be polished up nicely or leave as it is. Has brass edging this has tarnished due to storage and some of the cording will need replacing has worn through. See the photo's inside appears to be painted so that has stopped it rusting. Can post at cost. And no it not a 12th century original! more like 's -60's so I have been told.

A basically made but sturdy polished metal (aluminium?) helmet with metal straps riveted to it and basically painted, 2 plastic pseudo horns fixed in using Phillips type crossheaded screws! 3 faux leather flaps – one each side with a tie and a rear neck protector. Internally has some basic foam strips, one is missing. Approx. 58 cm circumference.
