This is a hand-knotted Keshan rug, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this rug unique and emphasise its authentic and traditional character. Kashan (or Keshan) is located slightly north of central Iran. Kashan is one of the resting places along the Silk Road. Characteristic for Keshans are a wonderfully designed medallions, trees and figurative patterns. There also are Keshan rugs that are completely covered in floral patterns. The most common colours are red, blue and beige.Keshan rugs are durable, made of high-quality wool, often with a rich shine, on a cotton warp (bobbin thread).
