Keshan (or Kashan) is located just north of the centre of Iran. Keshan is one of the resting places along the Silk Road. Characteristic for a Keshan is a beautifully designed medallion, trees and figurative patterns. There are also Keshans which are completely covered in floral patterns. The most common colours are red, blue and beige. Keshan carpets are durable, made of high-quality wool, often with a rich shine, on a cotton warp (bobbin thread).
