Rook 4G, 4GB smartphone with leather case
A great little phone! Great condition, no scratches or damage BUT I describe this as for 'parts or repair' because of problems with charging it (see details below). Size (without leather case) is a handy compact 6.5x12.5x0.7 cms. The Rook is a cheap all-round phone with really good qualities for the price (so the reviews say and I would go along with them) and, I gather - from my local EE shop - that they're no longer available despite the fact that there is still a demand for them. I wanted another one to replace this when I realised that I must have bent the tab inside the micro USB charging port by aggressive connection but, as I say, they're no longer available and damage to the tab was not covered by my contract warranty. I had a SIM-only contract with EE and, being an EE-branded phone, it's still linked to EE. Easy enough to have unlocked for use with any SIM, I would think. It's been wiped of all data personal to me, has been reset to 'factory' and (NOTE) does not come with a Micro SD or a SIM. All the usual requirements (Google, camera, wi-fi, BLE, e-mail, radio etc etc etc) are all there The battery is in perfect nick and, ironically, is fully charged. A charging cable is included (micro USB to USB). A good condition leather case, with credit card slots, is also included. Let me clarify the charging situation! It will charge but only if the charging cable (and I've tried several) is at a specific angle (vertical when the phone is flat) and is wiggled until the charging icon comes on. If the camera or cable is moved, charging stops and it needs to be 're-wiggled'. OK if you only charge it at home with a tried-and-tested procedure but a real pest if you're travelling (and I do!). Maybe you can fix this but it's beyond my patience levels thus 'spares or repair'. I'm happy to post it for an additional £5 tracked-and-signed. Read More
