The very popular setup included amongst other important people, historical events and scenes from the Amsterdam city life.The exhibition was arranged in groups: royalty (Queen Wilhelmina, Willem III, tsar Alexander III, Emperor Frans Joseph I, Prins Napoleon Bonaparte and others), famous people (Gambetta, Bismarck, Von Moltke, Disraeli, Darwin, Louis Pasteur, Goethe, Schiller, Hugo de Groot, Rothschild, Emile Zola and others), Gruwelkamer (cel der Bastille, Henry Tourville, Louise Kirst and others), Folterwerktuigen (the torture bank, de barrel, de raadbraak, decapitation block with axe, iron polel, scourge pole), masks of killers (William Hunt, Robespierre and others).The panopticon was demolished in .Condition: Spine a little worn, front page some spots, folded in the middle (especially back page), but otherwise very neat.
