Jieldé – Three industrial lamps,'applique murale'

Three beautiful industrial lamps ('applique murale') by Jieldé, very suitable to mount on a wall.The lamps have been completely refurbished. They have been taken apart, cleaned and de-scaled where necessary, and put back together. Two lamps are fitted with a new porcelain lamp holder (E27), one lamp still has the original porcelain E27 lamp holder. Each lamp has a switch right behind the shade (one switch is original, two are new) and an original metal Jieldé plaque. The lamp shades have been given a clear varnish to maintain and protect the paint and beautiful patina. The bright green and black paint is presumably not original. The vespa-green paint is original. All three shades have beautiful signs of an industrial past. The other parts of the lamp are made of plain metal and have been treated with a metal wax to protect the metal. Each lamp has a non-standard (and thus rarer) foot. The wiring is completely renewed with a black earthed wire (approx. 175 cm) and a black plug. Length of each lamp is approx. 40 cm. Beautiful, metal coloured Jieldé lamp with two arms and a clamp base. This lamp is completely refurbished: it has been taken apart, cleaned, checked and reassembled carefully. The paint had already been removed previously. The blank metal enhances the industrial appearance of the lamp. All parts have been slightly polished and treated with colourless metal wax. Here and there some signs of wear are present. The inside of the shade is treated with a heat-resistant, anthracite coloured wax. The lamp has also been equipped with anew wire (black, earthed, approx. 150 cm) and a new plug (black). Lamp holder is E27. On/off switch is right behind the lamp shade. This wonderful lamp, which has been restored to perfection, was designed by the French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq, commissioned by Jieldé. It was mainly used in factories as a work light. The unique feature of this lamp is the pivot point. Typically, a loose wire is used in these pivoting lights, which causes friction and as a result frequent breakage at the hinge points. The French engineer devised a secure, unique and patented alternative in in which copper plates are placed between the hinge points. These rings conduct the electricity, so wire damage will not occur. This beautiful and rare five-armed vintage lamp by Jieldé is an original piece from in wonderful brushed aluminium, which will fit right in in any interior. The heavy base creates a perfect balance in any position. Frequently, disc brakes that are too lightweight are used as base for these lamps when they get restored.
