The place where he wrote this work was the (now so-called) Martinetkoepel on the Zutphen city wall. Martinet died after a stroke in in Amsterdam and was buried there in the Nieuwe Kerk.Martinet was married but had no children. This beautiful, formidable atlas cost about € at subscription in .
