Jean-Louis Domecq for Jieldé - five-armed version.
This wonderful, rare lamp, which has been restored to perfection, was designed by the French engineer Jean-Louis Domecq, commissioned by Jieldé and was mainly used in factories as a work lamp. The unique feature of this lamp is the hinge point. Typically, a loose wire is used in these pivoting lights, which causes friction and hence frequent breakage at the hinge points. The French engineer devised a secure, unique and patented alternative in in which copper plates, which conduct the current, are placed between the hinge point. Because of this, no damaged wire can occur. This beautiful, rare, five-armed,vintage lamp by Jieldé is an original piece from in wonderful, brushed aluminium/stainless steel, which will fit in any interior. The height of the lamp is 230 cm in total. These five-armed specimens are hardly ever offered, because they are highly cherished by their owners. Moreover, this lamp has a lamp shade which is completely dent-free and it has a perfectly round, unfolded handle around the shade, which is fairly unique for a lamp this age. Because of the extra weighted, custom made base, this particular version can be folded in any desired shape without losing its stability. Wherever you put this lamp, it always is breathtakingly beautiful. Read More
