The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe - Rare Beswick
Beautiful rare Beswick figurine of 'The Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe' which was found in an old cardboard box when moving house, so I know very little about it's history. According to the valuer this is the Rolls Royce of figurines and has been valued at £. It was manufactured by Beswick in either or 46 and is a FIRST EDITION as the writing on the base is in gold. It measures approximately 3 1/2" from heel to toe and is 2 3/4" high. There is some crazing especially on the top, however, apparently, this is usual on figurines made at this time and simply shows it is genuine. Otherwise it looks perfect - A bit grubby but too frightened to clean it. The information on the bottom says BEATRIX POTTER'S THE OLD LADY WHO LIVED IN A SHOE F. WARNE & CO. LTD. COPYRIGHT BESWICK ENGLAND (in an oval also in gold lettering) L11 or 41 is believed to be the artist who made it I hope I have recorded all the details accurately, but if you need any further information, please email I am not at all knowledgeable on figurines so have taken expert advice before listing this item. It needs to be owned by someone who can really appreciate it. I am happy to post this item to you for an additional cost. Read More
