Irreguläre Migration: Im Rahmen der Arbeit soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, was das Phänomen 'irreguläre Migration' ist und wie bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt mit diesem Problem auf europäischer Ebene umgegangen wurde. In welchem rechtlichen Kontext stehen die eingangs beschriebenen Ereignisse Dieser Frage widmet sich der erste Teil der Hausarbeit. Es wird die Abgrenzung zwischen Migrant und Flüchtling geklärt und im Anschluss auf die verschiedenen rechtlichen Möglichkeiten eingegangen, wie ein Migrant ohne legalen Aufenthaltstatus definiert und beschrieben wird. Den Schwerpunkt bildet die Abgrenzung zwischen den Bezeichnungen 'illegale' und 'irreguläre' Migration. Im zweiten Teil der Arbeit wird zunächst die zahlenmäßige Größe irregulärer Migration auf europäischem Territorium und im Anschluss der Umgang mit irregulärer Migration in der Europäischen Union unter Zuhilfenahme der EU-Dokumente erläutert. Welche Maßnahmen wurden bisher ergriffen Sind die Maßnahmen restriktiv oder positiv Welchen Maßstab legt die EU im Umgang mit irregulärer Migration In der Schlussbetrachtung erfolgt ein Fazit und Ausblick. Waren die bisherigen Maßnahmen im Umgang mit irregulärer Migration erfolgreich oder sind die Maßnahmen noch am Anfang einer kohärenten Migrationspolitik In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der gängige Begriff 'irreguläre Migration' verwendet, der am wenigsten stigmatisierend ist. Auch die Internationale Organisation für Migration plädiert für die Bezeichnung 'irreguläre Migration' oder 'Migrant mit irregulärem Status'. Werden in diesem Zusammenhang öfter die Begriffe 'illegale Migration' oder 'illegale Zu-/ Einwanderung' verwendet, so bezieht sich dies auf die Formulierung seitens der Europäischen Union. Migranten ohne legalen Aufenthaltstatus werden in den Dokumenten der Europäischen Union als 'illegale Migranten' bezeichnet. Aufgrund der begrenzten Quantität der Hausarbeit beschränkt sich die Analyse der EU-Politik in Bezug auf den Umgang mit irregulärer Migration auf die gemeinsame Politik der illegalen Einwanderung und deren politische Prioritäten innerhalb der EU. Aus diesen Quellen gehen auch Einzelmaßnahmen ersichtlich hervor. Grundlage dieser Arbeit sind Dokumente der EU, Analysen zum Thema seitens politischer Stiftungen sowie wissenschaftliche Netzwerke. Migration and Inequality: The 'migration-development' nexus has emerged as an important area of both research and policy over the last ten years. However, most of the interest has focused on the potential that migration holds for poverty alleviation. Relatively little attention has been paid to the relationship between migration and inequality, particularly on inequality as a consequence of migration. This is unfortunate, given that inequality is emerging as an important area of inquiry within development studies. This edited collection explores the relationship between migration and inequality in Africa, Asia and Latin America by taking into account economic and social inequalities.While the focus on inequality as opposed to poverty is in itself original, the book offers additional points of interest. First, it combines chapters on internal and international migration, thereby challenging the current focus in the migration literature that focuses almost exclusively on cross-border migration. Internal migration greatly outnumbers cross-border moves. Yet policy-makers as well as most studies focus on cross-border international migration. We are only just beginning to unravel the relationship between internal and cross-border migration. Second, the theme of inequality complements the existing focus in the migration-development nexus on issues of poverty. Third, the chapters focus on both economic and social inequalities, often combining an analysis of different types of inequalities. The book also covers governance and migrants' rights gender and intersectionality and health. The chapters in this edited volume make an original contribution to debates on the migration-development nexus as well as the literature on inequality, which often tends to focus on economic measurements of inequality at the expense of including a thorough analysis of social inequality.
