Ghoum β 205 x 134 cm β "Persian eye-catcher in beautiful
This is a hand knotted Ghoum carpet, made of durable, natural materials. Imperfections in the patterns and shape make this carpet unique and emphasize the authentic and traditional character. Ghoum (or Qum) is the second holy city of Iran and is located Southwest of Tehran. The patterns are very diverse (floral patterns, design with garden decoration and animals, repetitive designs). Ghoum carpets are durable carpets made of high quality wool or silk (or mixtures of these), often with rich gloss on a cotton warp (bobbin thread), often finely knotted and with a rich shine. They are good carpets for use with a long life span. Later on, Ghoum carpets were also made in India, these are called Oriental carpets. It is a used carpet, more beautiful and richer in character due to the natural ageing process. Condition: Beautiful, used condition. Measurements: Approx. 205 x 134 cm Main colour: Red.
