Joseph Beuys - Klaus Staeck (ed.) - Ohne die Rose tun wir's
On 12 May Joseph Beuys would be 65 years old, and to celebrate that day publisher Klaus Staeck had a great project in mind. He invited nearly two hundred artists to contribute to what should become a great birthday book. However, on 23 January Beuys suddenly died from a heart attack. What should have been an extended congratulation, had become a posthumous tribute. The book was published in a limited edition of copies. Each artist got one or two pages, which they dedicated to Beuys in their own way. The result is an impressive book, which delivers a new surprise for every turned page, and at the same time provides insight into the art in the s.Heidelberg, Edition Staeck, .
