"Mischief Managed", 7y.o 17.2hh
Mischief Managed, “Jester”, is a 17.2hh, coloured, 7y.o Gelding. We believe he is WB x TB but to be honest, his breeding isn’t recorded. He has 9 and a half inches of bone and stands tall and proud when halted. I brought Jester from Ireland a little over two years ago, where he was the huntmasters horse. In the two years I’ve owned him I have regularly competed him in ridden showing classes and working hunter classes, this are what he mainly excels in and placed in every show we did, (we were out every weekend last summer). Judges never have a shortage of compliments for him and their only critique was that due to his size he should have been in a double as opposed to a snaffle. This year, I haven’t done much ridden showing with him and instead have been jumping BSJA on a ticket at 1m05 and 1m10. This summer has also included a large portion of dressage training to try and get him more relaxed and extended in his paces as he was a rather nervous and tense horse when I brought him. At his first cross country show, we jumped the intermiedate and placed 2nd, qualifying for Eland Lodge, however I had never got around to going. "A wonderful horse for the future, if he was for sale I'd snap him up in a heartbeat! Kind horse, with a willing to learn brain and a good attitude!" - Oliver Townsend at a clinic I took Jester to back in . "Beautiful horse with lovely paces, would love to work with him again." - Will Faerber, classic dressage rider at a clinic I took Jester to May . He has been ridden exclusively by me, and is currently ridden in a micklem bridle with a loose ring, French link snaffle. Jabs are all up to date and he stands fine with the farrier, vet and to be clipped. However, he is a bit touchy with his ears after hitting his head on the top of his stable door a few times in the past! Although he is easy enough to tack up if you drop the cheek pieces a couple of holes on both sides, nothing major. He does prefer a lorry to a trailer. Jester hacks alone and in company and I have also taken him to the beach and a pootle and scootle. At the pootle and scootle he jumped everything he was faced at with a large scopey jump. Would much prefer him to go to a dressage home, or a ridden showing home as I feel as though this is really what he excels at. He is currently out 24/7 April – November and stabled at night November – April. He currently lives out with geldings however has been in a field with mares either side only separated by electric fence and wasn’t showing off or bargy. True gent on the ground. No novices at all, no joy riders or under 18s either please. Jester needs an experienced, soft rider who will take the time and effort to get him completely relaxed and happy with his work. A few lumps and bumps, however nothing that has affected him in the time I have had him. Only for sale due to really not connecting with him. I have tried long and hard but I just haven’t felt a spark with him, and I want him to go to someone who will fall in love with him at first sight. Extremely hard and sad sale so please no time wasters. £ ono. Based in Glan Conwy, North Wales. 5 minutes from Junction 19 off the A55. Would rather texts then messages, thanks.
