DLP and Extensions
DLP and Extensions: DLP denotes a dynamic-linear modeling and optimization approach to computational decision support for resource planning problems that arise, typically, within the natural resource sciences and the disciplines of operations research and operational enginee- ring. It integrates techniques of dynamic programming (DP) and linear programming (LP) and can be realized in an immediate, practical and usable way. Simultaneously DLP connotes a broad and very general modeling/ algorithmic concept that has numerous areas of application and possibilities for extension. Two motivating examples provide a linking thread through the main chapters, and an appendix provides a demonstration program, executable on a PC, for hands-on experience with the DLP approach. Systemanforderung: The program DLPDEMO on the CD-ROM can run on a very basic PC and operating system with a minimal system configuration. It is upwardly compatible with more adv anced PC systems of the same genre. R System requirements: S PC, 486er with 25 MHz or higher, MS-DOS or Windows 3.1 or higher, 4 MB RAM, 0,5 MB free hard disk memory, 4-speed or higher (just to transfer program data to hard disc), standard monitor.
