Vintage EY80-N Arch-Top Acoustic Electric Guitar
Lovely and unique guitar made for John Hornby Skewes in South Korea (Cort, Tanglewood, Hudson, Takamine?) Beautiful arched Flamed Maple (?) top with Mother of Pearl inlay and cream binding. Back and sides are probably laminated Mahogany, topped off with gold hardware. There is a rose inlay at the 12th fret, and the finish on this guitar is excellent. Best feature of this little beauty is it's versatility, from noodling softly on the sofa to full bore through an amp. Fitted with both a Humbucker pickup at the neck, and an Under Saddle Piezo pickup, selectable by a 3-way switch. Each pickup has its own controls for volume and EQ, so the possibilities are endless. Even though it is probably 10 years old, this guitar is in superb condition, it even has that new guitar smell and has probably hardly ever seen the sun. Comes complete with a super unmarked Kinsman ABS hard case with quilted lining and a compartment for spare strings, batteries etc. probably worth £60 on it's own. I believe it sold for about £499 when new without the case, and I can't find anything else like it for sale new today. Viewing welcomed. My only reason for selling it is because it is primarily an electric guitar, and I only play un-amplified.
