Hofner Senator, good gondition for its age, has got a small hole where someone has fitted a jack in the past and another that's covered by a car badge of some sort where a volume control was. Hofner Senator Archtop Acoustic Jazz guitar This Hofner Senator is an early one. Overall, it’s in good condition, with some honest marks and scrapes. It’s loud and has a lovely sound. The binding is all in good condition and the guitar doesn’t have any splits. Someone has fitted a neck pickup (Now removed) in the past and the small screw holes can be seen at the bottom of the neck (see photos). This doesn't affect the guitar at all. If you decided to fit a neck pickup yourself you should be able to use the existing holes. The lacquer finish has some minor checking as you’d expect for a guitar with the original finish. The headstock is in good shape. The tuners have been upgraded with a set of Grover "Deluxe" tuners. The five triple-dot neck markers are all there and the Rosewood fingerboard is in good condition. As can be seen from the photos it still has the original Hofner compensator tail piece. The serial number of the guitar is which can be seen through one the "F" holes. The action at the 12th fret is about 2.5 to 3mm. Good for a guitar that’s nearly 60 years old. Overall a beautiful guitar, a great player, and a genuine piece of history, with a powerful acoustic tone, low action and when fitted with a pickup will give that original early 60s sound when amplified. I am sorry to sell it but a I feel such a quality vintage instrument should belong to someone who can spend more time than me actually playing it. This guitar would maybe suit a jazz player looking for a reasonable priced archtop with a big mellow sound or someone who appreciates a quality vintage guitar, again at a reasonable price. My dad bought this from a Liverpool musician in the late 60s intending to learn to play but it never happened. Rare and Collectors Item - s Höfner verithin (European) semi-hollow Acoustic Guitar (electric) (cannot find another Hofner online anywhere for sale online?) The s were introduced in the s and were produced with the Venetian double cutaways (this one) until when they was changed to pointed Florentines. The guitar is finished in cherry red. The neck is made up of a three-piece maple/beech/maple finish and a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is known for its standard mother of pearl flower motif. This semi-acoustic electric guitar is the three humbucker pick-ups variant, has the Staple pickups option, as compared to the Blade pickups and the Hofner factory fitted vibrato tailpiece (tremolo). I will deliver this guitar in person (within UK and within a reasonable distance) as I feel that a courier is not suitable for such a unique guitar. Hofner is in good condition, some minor varnish cracks around neck and body (Lacquer cracks)  is evident and I have noticed a very light clamp type impression where I assume a neck to body repair has happened many years ago.
